Sonya Wood Mahler
Sonya Wood Mahler loves getting kids and adults unplugged and outdoors. She leads kayak trips, snorkeling trips, caving trips, and stargazing programs all over the Southeast. Sonya has been involved in environmental education at the national level for 35 years. She has a BS in Marine Biology/Physics, a BS in Secondary Science Education, and a MS in Environmental Education/Natural Resources. She is married to a forester named Larry and has two big white dogs, a Samoyed named Story and a Great Pyrenees named Prancer. A few of her favorite things: bike riding, hiking, gardening, eating shrimp, pineapple, and dark chocolate, and working to protect sea turtles, manatees, and polar bears!
