We started the week with exploration. Kids went out to look for riches. As pioneers did it hundreds of years ago, we found a creek to look for gold nuggets. All kids gathered around the stream and were working hard to spot any gold pieces in the water. We didn't become rich financially but we did enrich our experience.
Later in the week, we found the first messengers of the spring - small blue flowers. They were hidden in the bushes among last year fallen leaves. We had planned to explore red color in the painting but continued exploring the blue color to capture the beauty of those tiny flowers.
On Friday when the weather cooled, we visited the flowers again. This time all of them had closed their petals to keep warm from the cold air.
