Joyful beginnings had a lot of fun with Ki Holly from Kindergarten visiting the class this week. On Monday and Wednesday, she let the chicken out of the coop in the school garden and they roamed freely between the students. We all enjoyed following them around and watching them search for food in the grass. Back in the classroom, Ki Holly shared the story of the Little Red Hen with us. On Wednesday, the students "baked" with modeling clay and had fun forming clay balls. On Friday, Ki Emily substituted for Ki Ieva and together we explored a new path in the forest. We found a glittering crystal on the forest floor and had to get around a big mud puddle. Special thanks goes out to Max and his family who came to spruce up the area around the forest bathroom during Saturday's community work day.
