Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: october 13 - 17, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
We were delighted to see you last Saturday at our Kingdom of Halloween festival! The event was truly magical, and we hope you and your children had a memorable experience.
Last week, the children were very excited to play in the small playground. The new platform provided extra space for them to build blocks, have a picnic on the small table, and dig in the new sand pit. They enjoyed running in the morning, with the warm autumn sun shining on them, and their laughing filled the entire play yard. While playing, they shared more creative ideas in groups and built deeper bonds with one another.
Our wet felting activity brought new sensory experiences for the Bluebirds students. In the forest, we sat in a circle, and the children carefully watched the teacher spread white wool on the baking sheet. Then they each chose a color, touched and stretched the soft wool, and gently placed it on top of the white wool. The following step was to apply soapy water, which was the children' favorite part. Each of them waited patiently for their turn to use the spray bottle to squeeze soapy water onto the wool. The children were fascinated by the transformation and noticed how the texture changed under their hands—from soft and airy to dense and solid. This process not only engaged their senses of touch, sight, and even smell, but also improved their fine motor skills and patience. After the wool sheets dry, we will use them to decorate lanterns for the Lantern Walk.
Last week, we began a new story named "An Apple Who Wanted to Be a Star." This week, we will cut apples in half and create apple-print tea towels with the children. In circle time, we will add a new movement song, “Bitty Bitty Bat,” to enrich our singing experience.
