Middle School: October 20 - 24, 2025
Hello, Middle School Families,
Last week, the class reconciled the cash boxes from the Kingdom of Halloween. This is always the best part of running the bake sale - seeing how much we made! The students raised $911! Congratulations!
Thank you also for attending our all-school meeting and for your ongoing support of our community. Our next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, at 12:30 PM.
Last week marked the end of this semester’s Math main lesson block. Ki Lesley’s group spent time wrapping up their final project and finalizing their main lesson books. In addition, students reviewed concepts and practiced for the end-of-block test. Ki Melissa’s class completed their geometry block with a drawing using Archimedes’ Spiral. Main Lesson books were assembled and reviewed. Key to Decimal work continues in regular math classes, which resume this week, and will conclude with decimal unit tests at week’s end.
In the morning, students finalized editing their essays for The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, this time working with a peer to edit each other's rough drafts. Students also reviewed figurative language concepts and had a lot of fun learning about them, in particular idioms and verbal irony (which fits the Middle Schooler mood perfectly!).
