Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: September 15 - 19, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
Welcome back to school! We were delighted to see everyone well rested and come back with fun stories and wonderful experiences. The children truly enjoyed playing in this crisp and pleasant fall weather.
Before Fall Break, we finished our “The Very Hungry Dragon” story. Once upon a time, a big dragon dwelled in a cave in the mountains. Following several days of rain, the sun finally appeared. The dragon was so hungry and wanted to find some berries to eat. He collected a basket of blueberries near his mountain and then decided to go on a different path to look for more. On his way, he came across a little boy who needed help starting a fire. This friendly dragon followed the brave boy to the cabin and started a warm, cozy fire in the kitchen. The boy's mother invited the dragon to stay for pancakes, which the dragon gladly accepted. He generously shared his blueberries with this family and enjoyed a delicious supper with them. Ever since then, the dragon and this family became friends and often had dinner together. The Bluebirds adored the dragon in the story. By the end of the week, we heard that the dragon had gone missing, so we went on a dragon hunt through different paths on our campus. The children used their strong and steady feet to go down big hills, where they spotted the dragon trapped in a tiny basket. We carefully removed the dragon from the basket, revealing some blueberry treasures that he was protecting. The benevolent dragon shared his treasures with all the Bluebirds as a token of appreciation for the children's bravery in finding him.
During art time, the Bluebirds painted golden kites using watercolor. They joyously flew their kites through the forest while running with the wind. We also wrapped up our late summer circle and will start the early fall circle this week. Our circle time features morning greetings, verses, and seasonal melodies, which promote language and physical development while helping young children build a deeper connection to nature. Each circle will span four to six weeks, giving children the time to fully absorb the music and gestures. New songs will be introduced gradually to enrich our seasonal circles.
This Wednesday, we are going to celebrate Rigby’s birthday. We are excited to spend this special day with Rigby and his family. Thank you for sharing tasty birthday treats with us!
