Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: April 28 - May 2, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
As the weather became warmer, we incorporated water into our free playtime in the forest. The children were able to carry out practical tasks such as doing laundry. They learned how to wash napkins in soapy water, then rinse them off with clean water. After doing laundry, the water was used to make soup and cake. They had such a good time scooping water and pouring it into different pots, as well as experimenting with different measuring tools.
The story of the big birds and little birds came to an end last week. In this story, the mother and father bird were busy preparing their older children to fly to their new nesting grounds. The younger birds adored their older bird friends but were saddened by their departure. However, the mother and father bird told them that even though the older birds were leaving to join new friends, they could still see them across the meadow, which cheered up the younger birds. The younger birds sang a sweet song to the older birds as they flew away. To this day, the younger and older birds can see one another in their new nests. As this story unfolded, the Bluebirds students came to realize that one day they would fly to different classrooms, but they could still see each other, and their friendships would remain strong.
This week's storytime will take us on a fascinating adventure with a caterpillar. As the children become more skilled and show readiness for kindergarten, we will adopt the same storytelling approach used in the kindergarten classrooms. We will read the tale one week, followed by a puppet show the week after.
