Kindergarten Honeybees: May 11-15, 2026
Dear Honeybee Families,
It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is already upon us! What a beautiful and sweet Honeybee year it has been. We are so grateful to have spent this past year with your precious children. Each one has been such a gift to know and cherish, and it has been a joy to witness their growth, the uniqueness of their personalities, and the goodness, love, and curiosity they so freely share.
The class had a very eventful final full week of school together. We celebrated our last birthday of the school year - happy birthday, dear Elijah! We loved hearing stories about him as a baby and listening as his journey through each year was lovingly shared.
The students also had the opportunity to make their own handmade paper. Using shredded paper mixed with water, along with flower petals and blossoms for decoration, each child carefully poured the mixture onto screens to press out the water. Next, the paper was flipped onto hard surfaces and left in the sunshine to dry over the following days. The children were delighted to watch the paper slowly harden and to discover the unique beauty and textures of each piece they created.
There was also much joyful racing throughout our forest space! The classroom grounds became the perfect obstacle course, and the students organized their own races together. It was wonderful to see their cooperation, encouragement of one another, and good sportsmanship. Their camaraderie and teamwork have been such a delight to witness throughout the year.
At the creek, although the weather was still a bit too chilly for fully entering the water, the children happily worked together to build an intricate dam using large tree roots and branches they found nearby. They spent much time testing and improving their creation with great excitement and collaboration.
The class has been working hard to complete their handwork projects as the year comes to a close. They strung necklaces using felt pieces and glass beads. Watercolor paintings and drawing books went home last week, and we shared our final painting day together in an especially quiet, peaceful, and reverent atmosphere.
As the Honeybees teachers look back on this school year, our hearts are full of smiles, warmth, and gratitude. Thank you, dear Mayara, for being our wonderful class rep for the Honeybees this year. We appreciate all that you did to help support our class, teachers, and parents. And thank you all for sharing your wonderful children with us and for all the care, support, and kindness you have extended throughout the year.
We wish you all a nourishing, restful, and joy-filled summer.
