Joyful Beginnings Bluebrids: January 6 - 9, 2026

Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,

Our first week of the spring semester was full of laughter and love. The children were thrilled to see their friends. As soon as they arrived, they started playing together and greeted one another with big smiles.

The highlight of the week was our painting activity. When seeing paint jars as the children entered our indoor class, they asked eagerly whether we would paint that day. After free play, we started our painting adventure with Mr. Brush. He helped the children find Jack Frost by using blue watercolor paint. As everyone gently moved Mr. Brush across the paper, beautiful snowflakes began to appear. Excited voices filled the room as the children said, “I found Jack Frost!” and “Look at my snowflake!”

In the forest, the children quickly picked up the familiar games they used to play, such as chopping wood, digging for worms, arranging truck races, and cooking make-believe meals. Through these repetitions in play, young children strengthen their social-emotional skills, gain confidence as they become more capable, and discover new details in nature. Before the break, many children showed interest in playing with tools such as hammers. We added some wooden hammers to our class for exploration. The children immediately found the hammers and started to use them to fix tables and logs, and some even used them as musical instruments. It was wonderful to see how their creativity flourished during play.

This week, in addition to singing “The Mitten” and “Little Jacky Frost,” we will learn a new song named “Snow” in circle time. Also, our story will continue to unfold as we follow the unexpected journey of a missing woolen mitten.
