Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: January 7-10, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
Welcome back to school! We were thrilled to see all the children! The students were excited to see their friends and play with each other in the class. We all shared some fun experiences we had during the holiday break.
The weather has been quite cold this week, and our class spent more time in our indoor classroom. The children collaborated to construct houses from various materials, such as blocks and silk. They cared for the baby dolls in their well-made home and cooked lovely meals in the kitchen. We introduced new silk playmats to our indoor class, which sparked the children's imaginations. They would place the silk on the ground and add characters to create their own story. In the forest, Jack Frost created icy soil and crystal ice. When the children
worked in the mud kitchen, they discovered ice pieces in pots and pans. They were excited to use their sense of touch to feel the ice and develop resilience in this wintery weather.
Our winter circle appears to have captured the children's attention. They enjoyed the song Little Jackie Frost and could be heard humming it during free play time. As the children gradually return to our rhythm, we will introduce more new songs to our winter circles. This week, we will resume painting. The children will make snowy scenes by painting a background with blue watercolor and then adding snow with white paint. This Wednesday, we will celebrate Declan’s birthday. We are very excited to spend this day with Declan and his family.
