Kindergarten Honeybees: January 7-10, 2025

Dear Honeybee Families,

We had an exciting and chilly week in the Honeybees class! Our new winter circle is off to a great start, featuring more seasonal songs. Since we began each day indoors last week, we had the unique opportunity to share our morning circle with the Turtles class. It was such a fun way to build connections with another group!

Despite the cold weather, we worked hard to maintain our regular rhythm. On Tuesday, we chopped vegetables, on Wednesday, we experienced watercolor painting, and on Thursday, we visited the farm. The students have been finding so much joy in playing with the ice and snow—it’s wonderful to see their creativity and excitement. Given our many opportunities to experience the winter weather outside, the students have a much greater connection with the seasonal ebbs and flows in nature as they play and observe the forest around them.

This week, we are embracing another series of cold days. We will continue to stay inside when the weather requires us to. The children are growing more comfortable with our winter circle songs, and we are continuing our story about a bird with a broken wing. The tale will be brought to life through a puppet show and will soon be performed as a play.
