Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: March 16 - 20, 2026

Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,

As we slowly approached springtime, we felt what is likely King Winter’s final presence in nature. The children are adjusting to the longer daylight hours as well as the unexpected cold winds. The transition into spring often brings restless energy and big emotions, as children experience significant growth spurts and have more energy to channel into learning and play. Please help ensure they get good-quality sleep and eat a hearty breakfast each morning. We will continue focusing on the children’s inner feelings and supporting their daily development.

Early in the week, mud and ice were the main highlights of the children’s play. They ran through big puddles on the way to the farm with wide, satisfied smiles on their faces. During the week, we also had class picture day. It’s hard to believe how much the children have grown and the special bonds they have formed with one another. As the weather became warmer, we were able to spend more time outside running, digging, and exploring. On Friday, we celebrated Skylar’s early birthday and were so grateful to share this meaningful morning with Skylar and her family. Thank you for sharing delicious birthday snacks with us!

In the classroom, we read books about a magical leprechaun and lucky shamrocks. The St. Patrick’s Day finger play immediately caught the children’s attention and quickly became a favorite:

A leprechaun, a leprechaun,
Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky leprechaun.
A leprechaun, a leprechaun,
Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky leprechaun.
A rainbow, a rainbow,
Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky leprechaun.
A rainbow, a rainbow,
Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky leprechaun.

During story time, Jack the Rabbit stayed back from his spring adventure to spend a little more time with King Winter. Instead, we welcomed Mr. Blue Jay, who is new to school and is learning how to make friends. Each child had a special turn hugging Mr. Blue Jay while practicing new skills, just like him. This week, Jack the Rabbit will return to our story table and continue his adventure with us.

We will also celebrate Amelia June’s and Loreah’s birthdays on Wednesday and Thursday. We look forward to sharing these special days with them and their families.

Announcements & Reminders:
