Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: September 7-11, 2026

Dear Bluebird Families,

Last week, the Bluebirds worked on dyeing their golden capes. They created a dye bath using golden flowers and added turmeric powder to help deepen the color. The children soaked their silk capes in the dye bath overnight, rinsed them with clean water the next day, and then hung them to dry. The capes looked so beautiful hanging among the trees in the forest. The children were very excited and looked forward to wearing them home this week. Thank you so much for donating materials and helping make this activity so meaningful!

During free play, we have observed friendship flourishing over the past several weeks. Many of the older Bluebirds have been helping our new Bluebirds settle in, showing them how to navigate and feel at ease in both our indoor and outdoor spaces. In the forest, imaginative games can be found everywhere. Some children imagined they were chasing a big, fire-breathing dragon, while others cooked pretend cakes and popped popcorn, or built tall towers with blocks. It has been wonderful to see our Bluebirds growing in confidence, forming friendships, and becoming more comfortable in our classroom.

This week, the children will work on their journal books creating unique drawings, and they will continue to work on their golden crowns, adding flowers and leaves to them. This Friday, we will also celebrate Sulie's birthday; we look forward to spending a special morning with Sulie and her family.

Class Reminders and Announcements:

Roots & Rhythms: We are excited to welcome Mari Cooper to our community! Throughout this school year, she will be leading an eight-session parent education series. With extensive experience in Waldorf education, Mari will invite participants to explore the “why” behind what we do through music, movement, and meaningful discussion. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the roots of our curriculum while connecting with other parents in our community.

Participation is expected for all new parents, and all parents are encouraged to join!  as part of our commitment to building a shared understanding of the philosophy and practices that guide our school. We look forward to supporting you on this beautiful journey of parenting!
