Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: November 10-14, 2025

Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,

We had a wonderful week in our class! Although the weather has been chilly and windy, the children’s enthusiasm for outdoor play remained strong. In the small playground, the morning sunshine brought just enough warmth for the children to run, dig in the sandbox, and enjoy the fresh air. In the forest, they collected sticks to build pretend campfires, used shovels to chop “firewood,” and cooked different flavored pies in the mud kitchen. Some were busy collecting acorns and seeds in the natural world.

In the classroom, the Bluebirds students expressed their creativity by decorating their pumpkins with vegetable paint (pumpkin), cotton balls, and clothespins. Little hands worked diligently pinching the clothespins to pick up cotton balls, which is a beneficial way to help them develop fine motor skills. Each of them made their own unique pieces of art by dipping cotton balls into bright pumpkin paint and stamping them on paper. Some children also enjoyed feeling the paint with their fingers, exploring its texture as they painted by hand.

On Friday, we celebrated Kawika and Balboa’s half birthday. We were grateful to spend time with their family, and we enjoyed the delicious birthday treats. Thank you for sharing with us.

This week, we will incorporate a new song about gratitude into our circle time. As the children sing:

Giving Thanks,

Always giving thanks.

To the sun and the moon.

Giving Thanks,

Always giving thanks,

To my family and my friends.

They will have opportunities to reflect on the people and things they are thankful for. Through singing, they learn to express gratitude and practice mindfulness, which supports their growth as caring, well-rounded individuals. On Friday, we’ll have our Thanksgiving luncheon from 11:00 to 12:00. All students and family members are invited, and we will gather together in our forest area. Please pack a picnic blanket to sit on and some lunch to share with families. If you are able to attend, the Grade program will have a musical presentation in the church’s sanctuary at 10:30.

Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us and for being a part of our community. We are very excited to see everyone on Friday!
