Middle School: October 13 - 17, 2025

Hello, Middle School Families,

A huge, huge thank you to all of you for your help with the Middle School bake sale and the food table. I cannot express my gratitude enough - we couldn’t do it without you! While I know that there are many, many hands that go into making the Kingdom of Halloween a success, I want to give a special shout out to two of our class parents: our class rep, Heather, for helping to organize the volunteers for Kingdom of Halloween, and Candace, the event planner extraordinaire! Thank you!!

Last week, we prepared for working the bake sale table at the Kingdom of Halloween by organizing the cash boxes, practicing with the Point of Sale tablets, as well as practicing customer service skills. Students lent their hands with designing menus for those standing in line, as well as working on signage and even calligraphy for the Royal Decree.

In Math Block, Ki Lesley’s class wrapped up the Platonic Solids, Loci study, and turned their attention towards a final block project - choosing an Archimedes Solid, drawing a net, and ultimately creating one in 3-D. All their creations will be displayed in a mobile. Ki Melissa’s class has been working with the five-division of the circle, discovering the connection to the pentagon and the five-division found throughout nature in leaves and flower petals. Decimal work continues along with reviewing money skills in preparation for the class bake sale.

Students are continuing to edit their essays for The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. Each day, they take a specific topic (such as commas, capitalization, word choice, passive and active verbs, etc.) and read their essays with an eye towards improving their essay in that particular area.

To round out the week, we had a lot of fun celebrating Pipor’s birthday! Happy birthday, Pipor!
