Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: December 8-12, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
We had such a wonderful week in class. The children created unique drawings in their journals and used dried orange slices and beads to make beautiful winter garlands. Over the past weeks, our students have been carefully working on their special wooden bluebirds to share with their families. These gifts turned out absolutely lovely!
We concluded our story with Mother Earth and her Evergreen Garden. Winter was beginning, and the days were growing darker. Mother Earth gathered all her creatures to help create an evergreen garden that would bring light to the long winter nights. The stones offered to form a path into the woods, while the crystals wished to shine in the candlelight like the stars above. The pines and firs worked together to build a spiral path. The queen bee shared her precious wax to make candles, and the apples volunteered to hold those candles, for they carried stars within their hearts. The red rose joined as well, hoping to bring new life to the garden. Soon, the forest animals emerged, promising to protect the garden and all who walked its path. Finally, stars fell gently from the sky to illuminate the spiral. Mother Earth then called the children forth. One by one, they walked the spiral, lighting their candles and placing them upon the stars. The Evergreen Garden shone with love and light.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Bluebirds experienced this story come to life during our school festival—the Winter Spiral. Accompanied by parents, each child walked with reverence and grace, placing their own spark of light along the path to help brighten the world around them. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, we can bring our inner light outward and help illuminate the way for others. Thank you so much for joining us in this event. We deeply appreciate your presence and all your contributions throughout the semester.
This week is filled with joyful celebrations. Yesterday, we celebrated Amelia Claire’s birthday and were grateful to share her special day with her and her family. Tomorrow, we will celebrate Ollie’s birthday, which we are very much looking forward to. Thank you for sharing such delicious birthday treats with us. We also have the pleasure of welcoming Jacob and Rihana’s mom into our classroom to help the children roll beeswax candles in honor of different light holidays around the world. On Friday, we will enjoy warm tea and yummy shared snacks together.
Looking ahead, we will continue with our familiar daily rhythm next semester with one small change: on cold mornings, drop-off will take place indoors. Over the break, we encourage you to support your children in practicing dressing themselves and putting on their winter gear—jackets, snow pants, hats, and gloves/mittens. This independence makes a big difference during our school days.
Thank you for sharing your lovely children with us, and thank you for your support. We wish you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
