Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: January 27 - 31, 2025

Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,

Thank you to all of our families who joined us this past Saturday for our All School Meeting. Coming together as a community to support our lovely school is what keeps us strong and helps us grow.

Brother Rain finally paid Mother Earth a visit after several chilly and dry weeks. The earth became moist enough for the children to dig. Even though digging is a simple activity, the children enjoyed working collaboratively in small groups to scoop up the soil. Digging benefits young children's development in various ways. As they dig, they are developing large and small muscles in their bodies. They are developing strength, control, and coordination in all of the body parts, including the large muscles in their trunk. Moreover, as they dig, they explore the space around them and the relationship between people and objects nearby. In the classroom, Jack Frost hid a surprise on the paper for Mr. Brush. While painting, the children discovered snowflakes on their paper. We also celebrated Ripley's birthday earlier this week. It was wonderful to spend the morning with her and her family. Thank you for sharing the delicious birthday treats with us.

This week, the children will use red watercolor to paint hearts in anticipation of Valentine's Day. To assist children in improving their fine motor skills, we will provide scissors and encourage them to engage in cutting activities. Ellis' birthday is on Wednesday, and we are excited to celebrate with him and his family. In addition, on Thursday, we will attend the Lunar New Year performance. Families are welcome to join us in the sanctuary beginning at 11:30 a.m.
