Joyful Beginnings Hummingbirds: February 10 - 14, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Hummingbird Families,
We’re so excited to welcome the children back to school! We hope everyone had a wonderful break.
Before the break, our week was full of adventure and excitement! Mother Nature reminded us that it was still winter, so we bundled up and made the most of the chilly weather. Outdoors, we went on nature walks, jumped in muddy puddles, enjoyed the soft rain, met our farm animal friends, discovered a bird’s nest, moved branches, and whipped up treats in the mud kitchen!
We also celebrated Rosemary’s birthday with her lovely family and enjoyed the yummy cupcakes!
Indoors, we strung beads, added our fingerprints to heart necklaces, watched out the window, mesmerized by the pitter-patter of raindrops, and let our imaginations take us on visits with Valentino, his friends, and the rainbow fairy. We also painted with “Buddy,” the brush, and watched in delight as a heart appeared on our artwork! It was a magical, enriching, and fun-filled week of connection— with nature, with our family and friends, and with ourselves. We hope your Valentine’s Day was just as lovely!
A big thank you for your help with the auction project! This week, we’ll be gathering materials, and the Bluebird children will begin sewing the pillow and blanket decorations while the Hummingbirds will start painting the peg dolls. We can’t wait to see the finished creations!
Announcements and Reminders for Hummingbirds:
The weather is very unpredictable this time of year. Please remember to include rain gear daily and dress your child in layers. The temperature on weather apps does not necessarily predict how it will feel in the forest, and it is easier to remove layers when students are warm than to help students warm up when they are cold.
