Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: February 10 - 14, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
Welcome back to school! We’ve missed everyone, and we are excited to see the children.
The week prior to the break, our primary interest was playing in the rain and with mud. One advantage of a nature school is that we spend time outside in any weather. Rainy day play can help children develop their senses and learn about nature. They were exposed to different sights, sounds, smells, and textures while jumping in puddles, running, and making mud pies. The children build resilience and can also practice putting on and taking off their rain gear.
In our Valentine’s story, Papa George shared magical seeds with hundreds of birds on Valentine’s Day. The children were curious to see what kind of seeds he had. So, he prepared Valentine’s surprises to share with our class. We hope you had a wonderful time with your loved ones on Valentine’s Day.
Thank you so much for your help and involvement in our auction project. Starting this week, we will gather our materials and begin to help the children sew the pillow and blanket decorations. We can’t wait to see the final product.
Announcements and Reminders for Bluebirds:
The weather is very unpredictable this time of year. Please remember to include rain gear daily and dress your child in layers. The temperature on weather apps does not necessarily predict how it will feel in the forest, and it is easier to remove layers when students are warm than to help students warm up when they are cold.
