Fourth & Fifth Grade: February 10 - 14, 2025
Dear Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents,
Before the break, the students embarked on an exciting journey through Ancient India, a land rich with beauty, legends, and traditions. They listened to captivating stories of Brahma, Vishnu, Ganga, and Ganesh, imagining life in Bharata through the eyes of children who lived in those ancient times. Through these stories, they explored the concepts of dharma and karma, learned the meaning behind the Sanskrit greeting Namaste, and discovered the magic of mandalas as a form of sacred art and meditation.
We ended the week with a joyful Valentine’s Day celebration, followed by a Persian feast, where students had the opportunity to experience and savor the flavors of a new culture. It was a wonderful way to bring history to life through the senses!
After the break, we will continue our exploration of Ancient India, diving deeper into the Vedas, the caste system, Hinduism and its deities, and the life of Buddha. This journey will culminate with class presentations and a special Indian feast, where students will have the chance to share their learning and experience the tastes of this vibrant culture.
