Fourth & Fifth Grade: May 12-16, 2025

Dear Fourth and Fifth Grade Families,

Last week, students concluded their enriching journey through ancient Mesopotamia and took a short but fascinating trip into ancient Egypt. Along the banks of the Nile, they explored the geography, the lives of villagers, the grandeur of ancient architecture—from the awe-inspiring pyramids to the mysterious Sphinx—and dove into the stories of Egyptian gods and goddesses. They also examined the meaning and significance behind Egyptian symbols and how they shaped both spiritual and everyday life.

This week, the focus shifts to the ancient Egyptians' beliefs about the afterlife. Students will explore the concept of mummification and the spiritual journey that accompanied it, deepening their understanding of how culture and faith were interwoven in ancient times.

Play practice continues in earnest as we prepare for our big performance this Friday at 5:30 PM. The students have been working hard, and their excitement is growing! They can’t wait to share their efforts with you.

In other news, we’ve (finally!) wrapped up our journey through fractions—a milestone met with relief and pride by many in the class. Their perseverance through this year-long venture has been inspiring.

It’s hard to believe, but next week marks the final week of school. As we close out the year, we’ll take time to reflect on all we’ve learned and experienced together—a year full of growth, creativity, and community.
