Second & Third Grade: April 13 - 17, 2026

Hello Second and Third Grade Families,

Last week, the children began rehearsing for their class play, Aesop’s Fables. Because the play is divided into six scenes, the children have been able to rehearse in small groups each day, practicing their lines together before performing for their peers. This structure helps build confidence when performing in front of others, while also giving them opportunities to practice being attentive and respectful audience members. The children have especially enjoyed the flexibility of the play, which encourages them to express their creativity. Next week, we will begin creating a book to accompany the performance.

The children also had the opportunity to paint the auction project last week. Thank you to all of the parents who joined in to help complete it. The children worked hard on their crocheted animals, and the final project looks beautiful. We truly appreciate everyone who contributed by cutting and assembling the barn, sanding wood, creating peg dolls, crocheting animals, and assisting with staining. It is a wonderful group effort, and we hope you will join us next Friday evening for the Hope Blooms Auction.

On Friday, the children were visited by Julie Knobb from Cobb Water Lab. She taught them about snake identification and safety, and she even brought in a corn snake for the children to observe. As the children have become comfortable with the rat snake that often frequents the farm, it was a good reminder of the respect that we should have for these beautiful animals.
