Kindergarten Honeybees: February 24 - 28, 2025
Dear Honeybee Families,
We had such a lovely week settling back in after Mid-Winter break! It has been wonderful to see the children reconnect with each other and with the rhythms of our days.
Last week, we welcomed the early signs of spring by making bird feeders with sunflower butter and birdseed, inspired by A Million Valentines. The children absolutely loved this activity—not only the process of creating them but also the delightful messiness of spreading the sunflower butter! They have taken great joy in watching birds visit their feeders, checking each day to see if any seeds have been eaten.
This week, we are continuing to embrace the beautiful weather and spending as much time outside as possible. With the sunshine and warmer temperatures, we’ve been able to fully enjoy nature walks, storytelling under the trees, and quiet moments observing the shifting season. We will also begin a simple handwork project, making necklaces from beads and extra felt. This activity will give the children an opportunity to strengthen their fine motor skills and practice patience while creating something special to wear or share.
Announcements & Reminders for the Honeybees:
The weather continues to shift unpredictably. Please send rain gear and dress your child in layers daily. It is always easier to shed a layer than to warm up after getting too cold.
