Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: March 10-14, 2025

Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,

What a wonderful week we had in the Bluebirds classroom! The rain fairies paid us a visit earlier in the week. The children giggled with their friends as they dashed across the large puddles. In the forest, they placed pots and pans beneath the platform roof and listened intently to the pitter-patter sound of raindrops. For the remainder of the week, the children cherished the pleasant, warm weather. Birds were joyously singing and flying between branches while bright yellow daffodils bloomed in the woods.

On Wednesday and Friday, we spent time on the farm. The donkeys brayed excitedly, and the goats rushed to the gate to greet us. The children fed the farm animals fresh veggies and fruits. The farm not only allows the children to care for the animals but also provides spaces for them to climb. The giant rock and goat platforms were two places where the children could enhance their proprioceptive sense. As they climbed, they learned about their body position, where to place their hands and feet, and how to balance.

Last week, the students worked diligently on their art projects. They made spring garlands with painted bluebirds, shamrocks, beads, and string. In addition, they sewed excess felt pieces from our auction project together to create elegant brooches. As Lady Spring approaches, we will assist the children in planting flower seeds in the small playground, adding cheerful colors to our play area. We'd like to thank Ki Derek and other community members for filling the sandbox during Community Work Day.
