Hello, Middle School Families,

Thank you to ALL the parents for such a wonderful week of goodies for teacher appreciation week! From plants to delicious food and cards from students, it was truly a special week! Thank you so much!

The theme for this week was preparation! Preparation for the Middle School Play, the end of the school year assembly, and the Eighth Grade project presentations. Our preparations are smoothly coming along, and the class is enjoying the comedic aspects of our play preparation. Additionally, they are engaged in memorization work of a very long recitation for the end of the year assembly.

The fantastic group of Eighth graders in the Middle School class spent the past year pursuing a skill, a talent, a craft, or a passion and they were tasked with completing a Capstone Project that would bring them to a certain level of understanding, experience, or mastery. The culmination of a year’s worth of work was achieved on Thursday when they presented to the community of faculty, students, parents and mentors. I have been consistently impressed by all the hard work that the four of them put into their projects, and their presentations really showcased their effort, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for their project.

I want to take a moment at this time to express my deep gratitude for the supporting community that helped guide these Eighth Graders in their projects, starting with the mentors who stepped up to the task. I want to say thank you to the mentors for these four students, David Sewell McCann who worked with Rory, Jarrod Harris who worked with Nico, Dax who worked with Major, and Seth Scott who worked with Asher. And finally, a thank you to the Eighth grade parents for all the time and effort they put into supporting and guiding their child through this project, along with supporting me!
