Sixth & Seventh Grade: March 17-21, 2025

Hello, Middle School Families,

After wrapping up the Algebra block at the beginning of last week, we finished the week stepping into the much awaited Physics block!  We started off with the study of optics, exploring light and the nature and properties of color. We spent most of our Main Lesson time immersed in demonstrations and activities to give the students hands-on experiences and observations to help them derive the related laws of physics themselves. This phenomenological approach to science in Waldorf schools brings sensory experiences to the students to help them form empirical knowledge of the sciences. Throughout this block, the students will be writing lab reports for their Main Lesson books on the various experiments that are done.

Students also began work on their Renaissance painting of “The Girl with the Pearl Earring” in Fine Arts. Their finished products will be displayed on Grandfriend’s Day!

Finally, we celebrated Julian’s birthday last Monday with a yummy treat! Happy Birthday, Julian!
