Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: March 24-28, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
Last week, our days were filled with excitement and surprises. On picture days, Ki Alycia came back to visit us with her newborn baby. The children were so loving and gentle around him. The seeds we planted have already sprouted. Every day, the tiny seedlings expand in size and height. The children helped water and care for the plants in the small playground. We hope to see the beautiful flowers blooming soon.
In the forest, the children’s play shifted from pretending to be princesses and chasing monsters to pretending to be firefighters, doctors, rock stars, and builders. Cooking and baking in the mud kitchen continue to be one of the children’s favorites. We have enjoyed chocolate chip orange waffles, chocolate cookies, mixed berry tea, and spaghetti together. Young children learn primarily through imitation. They memorized and learned ways to cook by observing how their parents and caregivers cooked at home. For example, when preparing spaghetti, the children would use one pot to make the sauce and another to cook the noodles then mix them together. Because young children absorb everything around them, it is important that we, as adults, be mindful of our actions, movements, and tone of voice around them.
On Friday, we celebrated Amelia’s birthday. We were so happy and grateful to spend the morning with her and her family. Thank you for the delicious birthday snacks.
Starting last week, some of our Bluebirds began their kindergarten observations. We could not be happier for them and their accomplishments this semester. They've grown and matured tremendously! More students will have observations following spring break. Please help your children prepare for these two-day observations at home. If you have questions about what snack to bring, when and where to drop off, etc., please do not hesitate to ask. This Friday is Grandfriends' Tea. We invite all students and families to join us from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the forest. You are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and lunch to share with your children. On Friday, we'll also celebrate Evers' birthday. We're looking forward to spending the special day with him and his family.
