Sixth & Seventh Grade: March 24-28, 2025

Hello, Middle School Families,

Physics is fun! This week, we wrapped up our exploration of light by mixing both primary pigment and light colors into secondary colors! The students were surprised to learn how the primary colors of light, which are red, blue, and green, mix into different secondary colors than pigment colors. Primary light colors also combine to make different colored shadows.

The class dove into thermodynamics, exploring the various sources of heat: combustion, friction, stress, light, electricity, and chemical reactions. We ended the week by learning about properties of heat and its effect on solids, liquids, and gases.

After wrapping up the Algebra and Geometry Block with a test, the class moved onto Ratio and Proportion, and in ELA, the class has been finalizing their wish, hope, and dream creative writing piece.

This Friday is Grandfriends' Day. We invite all students and families to join us from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. We will start with a grades presentation in the sanctuary, followed by light refreshments on the playground. Before leaving for break, please come to the classroom to retrieve your child’s stained glass piece from the window. They are very fragile and should get home safely this way.  Thank you!
