Kindergarten Chickadees: March 31 - April 4, 2025
Osiyo, Chickadee Families,
Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break and is ready for the last several weeks of the school year. Thank you to family and friends who visited the Chickadees during Grandfriends’ Tea. It was exciting to meet students’ loved ones and allow everyone to take a peek at the children’s daily free-play activities.
Over the next few weeks, the children will plant flowers and lettuce in planters during class. These planters will be kept in a nearby sunny spot where students can check on them daily, weeding and watering the plants as needed. These flowers and greens should grow quickly so the Chickadees can enjoy them before the end of the school year. We will also start this period with a new late-spring circle, continuing our theme about animals waking from the winter to enjoy the sun and warmth. Additionally, the Chickadees will begin splashing in the creek on warm mornings following the break. Please remember to return creek shoes (after ensuring they still fit!) Please be sure shoes for creek play are closed-toed and hard-soled.
You are invited to join the Chickadee students on Wednesday, April 16th, from 11:00-12:00 in our outdoor classroom to complete our class project for the spring auction! We will glue pine cone “shingles” onto the roof of the solitary bee house and help the students place gray thumbprints on the sides and back of the house, which will be made into chickadees. The pollinator house looks beautiful, and the students look forward to finishing it with the help of their teachers and family members.
