Kindergarten Turtles: March 31 - April 4, 2025
Greetings, Turtle Families,
We hope you all enjoyed a restful Spring break! The week before the break was a busy one. It was lovely to have all of the Grandfriends join us on Friday. The children were so excited to host all of the visitors in our class, and everyone had a lovely afternoon.
The week before the break brought beautiful spring weather, and we spent our days outside. The pollen was plentiful, but we were grateful for Spring! Our story was about three little mole sisters. One of the sisters, Tiny, was very adventurous, and she would explore outside of the hole they called home. She met a worm, a centipede, and a snake on her travels. They all told her astonishing things about the world “up-above”, Tiny would rush home to tell her sisters. Each time she shared the astonishing thing she had been told, her sisters replied with “nonsense” and “silliness”. They dismissed her and continued, content in their little mole hole. Tiny, thinking about all of the astonishing things she had been told, decided to explore the “up-above” for herself. When she got there, she saw that the other creatures had been right; there was light and day. She saw so many new things, and she discovered SPRING! She hurried back to the hole to tell her sisters - I wonder if her sisters will believe her??? The children enjoyed this story, and it was very fun to watch them perform the play – they delighted each time the sisters said “nonsense” and “silliness,” and when Tiny discovered Spring, the children happily chorused “SPRING!” together.
We will begin a new story this week. We finished up our Spring is Coming Circle before the break and will start a new Spring circle this week. This circle has a cooperative activity called Little Bird Fly Through My Window that the children enjoy.
