Kindergarten Honeybees: March 16 - 20, 2026
Dear Honeybee Families,
Our “In like a lion” early spring week began with a lovely surprise—Ki Stephanie joined us during snack to share Irish songs on her cello, filling our classroom with rich, gentle music. Strong winds kept us tucked cozily indoors at the start of the week, before we ventured out to the field by the farm to play alongside the Chickadees and Turtles classes.
On another day, a frosty morning greeted us, but the children soon warmed into the joy of St. Patrick’s Day. With only blue and yellow paint, they carefully mixed and discovered the many shades of green, watching colors transform beneath their brushes. We listened to a festive story and created shimmering shamrocks with kite paper, the children thoughtfully folding and gluing each piece with care.
Out in the forest, small treasures awaited us—tiny baby acorns nestled in the earth and what may have been our last glimmer of winter ice. Nearby, we noticed the Brussels sprouts stretching tall, reaching upward as they begin their journey to bloom. The afternoon sunshine stayed with us, inviting us to spend more time on movement and play.
As the week unfolded, we were gifted many hours of fresh air and togetherness. The children spent their days running, playing, and sharing in the simple joys of the cool spring weather. We also gathered for our class picture (makeups will be this Thursday!).

Grandfriends Day is coming soon! Wednesday, April 1st, you, grandparents, and other special grownups in your child’s life are welcome to join us in our forest classroom for light refreshments and time to enjoy community and watch your children at play! You are also welcome and encouraged to attend the Grade performance at 10:30 am. Please remember to e-mail your visiting guest information by Friday, March 27th.
April 1: Grandfriends Tea at 11:00 (All students and family members are welcome to join)
April 6-10: Spring Break (No School)
April 24: Annual Auction Fundraiser (Half Day)
April 25: Community Work Day
