Kindergarten Honeybees: August 11-14, 2026
Dear Honeybee Families,
We had a lovely first two days of school. It has been so wonderful to see and hear the forest buzzing again with the sounds of children playing, exploring, and laughing together. By the second day, the children were already settling into the rhythm of our days and playing harmoniously alongside one another. It has been such a joy to witness their connections beginning to grow.
On our first day, we were still getting acquainted with one another and with our forest space. The children were given a grand tour, exploring all of our classroom nooks and crannies, discovering special places throughout the forest, and learning about our boundaries and how we care for our shared space. They gleefully followed along, full of curiosity and excitement. By day two, the children were already participating beautifully in our morning circle and knew exactly which special place in the forest they would fly to after the circle to begin their morning play.
One afternoon, we had a surprise rain shower, and the children promptly knew what to do! They all flew over to the platform to gather their rain gear and get themselves ready for the changing weather. Shortly afterward, thunder rolled in and we made our way into our indoor classroom. The children were incredibly calm and cohesive as they gathered their belongings, followed directions, and transitioned inside together. Once indoors, they were happy to explore the new space and discover the toys and materials waiting for them. Even with the unexpected change in our day, they remained curious, joyful, and connected with one another.
Thank you so much for joining us at our Meet & Greet on Saturday. Your presence and preparation have helped make this transition into the school year so smooth and supportive for the children. We are off to such a beautiful start, and looking forward to all the adventures, discoveries, friendships, and growth this year will bring!
