Kindergarten Turtles: February 23-27, 2026
Greetings, Turtle Families,
We recently introduced several beanbag games into the classroom. The children love tossing bean bags with a partner. Another favorite is A-Tisket A-Tasket. These games have many benefits. They develop spatial awareness as the children pay attention to their surroundings, learn to track where the beanbags are going, and anticipate where they are coming from. Tossing, catching, grasping, and releasing strengthen both fine and gross motor skills, while also developing hand-eye coordination. It is especially rewarding to watch a child who has been working hard to catch finally succeed – the joy and pride on their face is truly priceless. These games also nurture confidence as children take on new challenges, and they strengthen social skills as classmates cooperate, encourage one another, and work together.

I wrote a letter to my friend, and on the way, I dropped it
I dropped it, I dropped it, on the way, I dropped it
A little kid picked it up and put it in their pocket.
Thank you all for working at home on your clay creations for our class auction project. It was such a joy to see them return to school—each one uniquely reflective of its artist. A special thank you to Isabela for her work and care in helping bring this project together. We look forward to welcoming you to the classroom to help add glaze to the pieces. If you would like to join us, please use this sign-up link to choose a time that works for you. While participation is not required, we would greatly appreciate your help if you are available.
