Dear Second-Grade Families,
The last week of school went by very quickly. Every day, the class was busy wrapping up the school year in the mornings and having fun outdoors in the afternoons. The students used the main-lesson time to listen to a few more fables. In handwork, the class finished their projects with Ki Ieva and enjoyed embroidering hearts and stars on plastic canvas.
We had perfect summer weather throughout the week, and the class spent a lot of afternoon time cooling down by the creek. The students had fun playing with sand and clay, splashing each other, and getting wet from head to toe. Ki Rachel also took the class to the creek for exploration. On Wednesday, we had our field day with all kinds of water games up on the green. The class enjoyed competing in teams to fill buckets of water with sponges and cups, play with beach balls, and slide on our water slide. We ended the games with juicy fruit popsicles.
On Friday, our main lesson books went home with the students. These books contain samples of what the students have learned throughout the school year.
As we closed this year, we wished some classmates and their families well on their new adventures. In the coming year we have the joy of looking forward to several new friends joining our class. We will continue our learning journey together as the 3/4 class. In addition to continuing to share many extra main lesson activities such as painting and form drawing, we will stay together for our main lesson time and integrate our curriculum to meet the needs of all students. Many speciality classes will also be combined. Creating a fully integrated class allows for the healthiest social dynamic for the students and we are looking forward to sharing our adventures together!!
Thank you very much for your continued parent support throughout the school year and your lovely teacher gift. I am looking forward to seeing you again in third grade and wish you a great summer!
