Kindergarten Turtles: January 16-20, 2023

Greetings Turtle Families,

We had a beautiful week in the forest.  We had mornings that were wet and rainy and some almost spring-like afternoons. The children enjoy the changes that the weather brings to our outdoor classroom.  They love the puddles and mud the wet weather provides!  On Wednesday, we had a special treat, as guest speakers from The Southern Museum brought model trains to share with us! The children were delighted to hear all about trains and to see them run on the tracks. Thursday started out rainy and turned into a beautiful, warm, sunny day and we were inspired to take a nature walk after rest time.  We found some beautiful yellow daffodils blooming along the path, a little taste of spring in January!  The children continue to grow their friendships; it is so nice to hear the conversations they have with each other throughout the day.  As the year goes on, we see evidence of their growth in how they play, talk and work things out with each other. It is such an honor to spend each day with them.

Conferences are coming up on February 15th, 16th and 17th. You can sign up for a time here. Conferences will be in person at the school, however if you need to meet virtually instead, please let me know and we will arrange for that. If you do not see a time that works for you, please let me know and we will schedule a different time. Conferences are planned for 20 minutes. If you feel you may need longer for your child's conference, please let me know before scheduling so we can work out a time that respects your time and that of other families. We ask that children do not attend conferences, allowing us to communicate in confidence.
