Hello Second Grade Families,

It's hard to believe that the weekly message no longer starts out addressing First Grade families! We had a good start to Second Grade and began by participating in the Rose Ceremony. Thank you for helping to support the rising First Grade class. We dove into the school year and heard the story “The Lion and The Mouse” and worked on long vowel and short vowel sounds.

Next week, our story will be “The Story of Jumping Mouse.” This is the same story that last year's Second Graders used for their class play. We will use this story, along with playing the game bingo, to help practice sight words. We will also spend some time working on correctly forming upper-case and lower-case letters.

Although last week was short, it was productive. It was great to be back together and the students seemed excited for the new year. Hopefully, everyone had a great summer!

Announcements and Reminders:

Bring 2 full water bottles and bug spray every day.
Bring rain gear every day. It can be left at school, and stored in our shed.
