Joyful Beginnings: August 28- September 1, 2023

Dear Joyful Families,

It has been another great week in Joyful Beginnings. We had lots of rain last week which brought us some coolness. The children continued to enjoy exploring nature. During our outside play, the children loved cooking food with sand and dirt. So far, their favorite baking activity is to dig up dirt in the forest and make chocolate cake. Our outside platform also provides the children with a great space to build with blocks. While building together, the children develop new friendships and learn how to share and take turns. Block building encourages children to use their imagination and creativity. During our indoor time, with the teacher’s help, the children chopped vegetables and apples to prepare for soup and quinoa. This activity supports and nourishes our senses and builds strength in our hands. On Thursday and Friday, we took a nature walk all the way to the farm. We visited the bunny, donkeys, goats, and chickens. The children had so much fun!

This week, we will start a new story called The Hungry Dragon to celebrate kindness and courage. On Wednesday and Thursday, the children will use finger paints to create beautiful artwork.
