Kindergarten Honeybees: October 7 - 11, 2024

Dear Honeybee Families,

I enjoyed working with you all on our community work day this past Saturday. Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and help us prepare for Kingdom of Halloween. In class last week, we completed the decorating and assembling of our craft bags. These bags are used to store items like needles, thread, and scissors so that the children can have access to these materials both during structured craft time and during free play if they feel like working on a craft. On Monday, we went on a nature walk around the school's campus. On Wednesday, the children were delighted when we did our watercolor painting, and they saw the yellow and blue paint mix together to make green. On Thursday, we had a short day and started our Parent Teacher Conferences. Thank you all for making the time to talk to me about your wonderful children and their experiences here! It was truly a pleasure.

This week, we will continue our Native American folk tale about the origins of the rainbow. We will do it as a puppet show on Thursday and the children will tell it in the form of a play on Friday. We will also be using thread and fabric to sew rice bags.

Announcements and Reminders for Honeybee Kindergarten:

• Kingdom of Halloween is on October 19th. Please sign up for a time slot to volunteer!

• Please remember to send a vegetable with your child on Mondays, and if your child is here on Thursdays, please send a fruit with them as well.

• The weather is supposed to be cooler this week, so please make sure you send your child to school with layers.

Warmly,
