Hello, Second Grade Families,

Last week, Second Grade began their last Math Block of the year. The class worked on their double- and triple-digit addition along with subtraction. The students love to be challenged in their math abilities. We are using both the board and our gems to reinforce and visualize various math problems. The Second Grade and First Grade classes also had the opportunity to have some shared Main Lesson time together last week. The two classes worked well together, both academically and socially, and showed that they have a promising future together in the coming year

This week, the class will begin reviewing math facts that we previously learned and will work on some new multiplication and division facts. The class will be reminded that multiplication is repeated addition and that division is sharing equally. Additionally, the class will also work on wrapping up the year by cleaning out their classroom spaces and desks to either take home or store away for the summer.

While the students missed working on the play, they settled in nicely to focus on their math. They have learned so much this year, and it has been a joy to watch them grow.

Please send your child ready for full creekcess on Fridays with a change of clothes, hard-bottomed, closed-toed shoes, and a towel.
Please send two full water bottles to school daily; students feel the warmer temperatures and drink a lot of water!
