Parent Handwork: October 2025
Parent Handwork:
Parent Handwork is open to all parents of school students. No previous experience is needed!
Ki Ieva will guide you step by step to explore and learn the same handwork skills taught in the Grades program.
The heart of Parents' Handwork is community—coming together to learn, create, and support one another. We would love to have more parents join us!
We began the year with a simple lavender sachet project. Next, to celebrate our school’s Day of Courage festival, we moved on to dragons—starting with a beginner-friendly version of our beloved classroom dragon, and progressing to more advanced designs.
Now, we are focusing on preparing for our biggest school event of the season: The Kingdom of Halloween!
After the Kingdom of Halloween, we will begin creating dolls—ranging from tiny pocket babies to full-size Waldorf dolls. These can be small, weighted, or life-sized, depending on what you would like to make.
Waldorf Doll-Making:
The Parent Handwork Waldorf doll-making sessions will begin on October 24 and continue through December 12.
If you would like to participate, please look at the kit choices and select the one you would like to order. Options are given for skin tone, hair, and clothing. Please note the skill level for each option below.
Option 1 - easiest
Option 2 - average
Option 3 - hardest
To save on the shipping costs, please join the group ordering and email your preferred option to Ki Ieva at Ieva@thegardenmarietta.org by October 17. The cost for orders placed after the October 17th deadline will include the full shipping charge. Additionally, Ki Ieva will have all materials available, which can be purchased directly from her at a one-time cost per doll. The cost will be roughly the same.
We hope you will join us and look forward to the fun of Waldorf Doll-Making together!
