Kindergarten Chickadees: October 6 - 10, 2025

Osiyo, Chickadee Families,

It was wonderful to see each of you at conferences and have the opportunity to discuss your incredible children.

With the changing season, creek shoes were sent home last week, as the mornings have become too cool for creek play. We will resume playing in the creek in the spring when morning temperatures are higher again. In the meantime, our class will enjoy Tuesdays at the farm and exploring other natural areas of the forest. Visits to the farm have already sparked insightful questions, such as why goats have horns and why the goats and donkeys like to eat some types of leaves and not others. At the farm and on our walk to and from the farm, the Chickadees carry a bag for gathering trash. When students see garbage, they pick it up and put it in the bag to be thrown away, helping keep our campus clean and safe for animals and humans.

This week begins a new story about a pocket witch named Witchamaroo. This is a sweet and charming story about friendship and conquering your fears. The students will continue making apple crafts through the next week or two. We will also have apple cider for our shared drinks this Thursday and Friday; please let me know if your child should not have the cider. In the spirit of the Kingdom of Halloween, the children will play fun games this week that build their physical and brain development as they move their bodies like different types of fall animals, like spiders, bats, dragons, and snakes.
