First Grade: November 3 - 7, 2025
Dear First Grade Families,
Thank you for your presence and beautiful singing at our Lantern Walk! The experience was moving and magical for all. How sincerely we were all able to sing of how lovely the evening was! Maybe you can find a dark corner or hallway at home that would benefit from your child's lantern through the short days ahead. This simple paper creation’s color, shape, and glow are truly comforting.
Another special event that is coming up is the first Grades presentation of the school year! The tone and dress code are more formal than a typical school day, as is befitting of a special occasion. Dressed in their best, students proudly share poems, songs, and dances on stage in the sanctuary. These presentations are major confidence builders and an unparalleled opportunity for your child to crystallize their learning.
In academic news, the class is delving into Math operations until the Thanksgiving break. The Math gnomes have come out of the woodwork to meet another adoring audience of First Graders! The children have enjoyed hearing about how Pearl Plus gathers the most beautiful stones she can find to share with her gnome friends and display on shelves. Students depicted the story in their Main Lesson books and wrote out sums. They have been very excited to learn and use math symbols! To support their comprehension, the class has continued engaging in a variety of math games and Circle activities.
Announcements & Reminders:
We are looking forward to seeing families at the Thanksgiving Luncheon! Please RSVP to Ki Michelle by Wednesday, November 19th, via email with the names of the guests attending. Please also attend the Grade Presentation at 10:30 am to hear some lovely music and see our Grade program in action. When you arrive for the luncheon, your child will be signed out to your care for the remainder of the morning.

November 24 - 28: Thanksgiving Break (No School)
December 11: Winter Spiral (First - Fifth Grade)
December 19: Last Day of Fall Semester/Grades Assembly 11:00 am (Half Day)
December 22 - January 2: Winter Break (No School)
January 5: Teacher In-service (No School)
