Kindergarten Honeybees: February 2 - 6, 2026
Dear Honeybee Families,
Thank you for joining us on Saturday for the Curriculum and All-School Meeting. It’s always so meaningful to come together as a community, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing our Honeybee class auction collaboration come to fruition.
It was another chilly week, which found us indoors most mornings. One of our classroom parents generously gifted us several beautiful games from Germany, and the children delighted in them, spending nearly every morning absorbed in play. The students explored animal stacking games, color-matching and shape-formation games, and the most popular of all- a marketplace game. In this game, children choose a shopping list and are given various forms of coins and cash to purchase grocery items. It’s a wonderful matching game that supports observation skills, problem-solving, and imaginative play.
The children also joyfully put on a puppet play of our Magical Porridge Pot story. The students memorized their lines with great enthusiasm, and as our porridge “flooded the town,” there was much laughter and delight, especially as the children waved cream-colored silks to bring the scene to life. The class also watched a puppet show of the same story using new felted dolls, which the children were eager to hold, study, and admire. Finally, on one crisp morning, we were able to head outdoors and enjoy our very own porridge from the magical porridge pot. We added agave syrup and cinnamon to our oatmeal, and the children happily welcomed this special new treat.
