Kindergarten Turtles: November 17 - 21, 2025

Greetings, Turtle Families,

Thank you for joining us for the Thanksgiving Luncheon. The students were delighted to welcome their families into our forest classroom, and sharing a meal together made the day extra special.  We hope your Thanksgiving break was filled with rest, relaxation, and memorable adventures with the people you love. Your children and the community we share at the Garden School are a blessing to us, and we are very thankful!

In the days leading up to the break, the children created their Thankful Turkeys. They used hole punches to cut out the head, beak, waddle, and eyes. When they had all of the parts, they glued them in place. Each student chose the colors for their feathers and then used scissors to cut the feather shapes. Sitting one-on-one with a teacher, they shared what they were thankful for, and their words were recorded on each feather before they tucked them into their Pinecone Turkey.  This was a sweet and fun activity.  Each student has so much to be thankful for, and they were proud of their turkeys.

This week, we begin a new circle with late-autumn songs and verses that will carry us right into winter break.  This circle celebrates falling leaves, crisp air, and bundling up warmly as the season turns.

The day is cloudy, and the wind is bold,

Dress up warmly, you mustn’t get cold.

Put on your coat and zip it up tight,

Put on your left boot, put on your right.

Put on your scarf, put on your hat,

Put on your mittens and clap-clap-clap!

Go outside and play and play,

Look for a squirrel and a chipmunk today.

Come in again, and then we’ll say,

Take off your coat that was zipped up tight,

Take off your left boot, take off your right.

Take off your scarf, take off your hat

Take off your mittens and then take a nap!
