First Grade: August 11 - August 15, 2025
Dear First Grade Families,
What a week! Your children were brimful with excitement in the mornings to discover what each day would hold. Each child brought their own unique and endearing approach to the experience, some charging ahead with all the fire of their enthusiasm, while others progressed with greater reserve, but just as much curiosity and engagement. Getting to know each child is a real joy; a new class is like a treasure chest.
Thank you for coming to the Meet and Greet, where all present were able to enjoy each other's company, meet teachers, and explore the classrooms. It meant so much that families took the time to attend the Rose Ceremony in honor of the First Graders’ rite of passage into academic learning. The grades program is all the richer for their having joined!
Announcements & Reminders:
Morning arrival: Thank you for working hard to be on time in the mornings! Our class begins the day with movement activities such as skipping rope, and it is disappointing to children when they miss out if they are late. We want everyone to join in the fun and learn new skills, so please continue prioritizing punctuality.
Creekcess: Children change out of their wet clothes after being in the creek, but there is not an opportunity to change into swimwear beforehand. Your child should come to school in the clothes they will wear in the creek; this can include swimwear under ordinary clothes. Hard-soled, closed-toe shoes are required, and a towel is helpful. New request: Please send a bag (grocery, an old tote, etc.) big enough to fit your child’s towel, water, and change of shoes to carry them to the creek and back.
