First Day Assembly & Rose Ceremony: August 12, 2025

At the Rose Ceremony, our First Graders are warmly welcomed by the oldest students, who gift them a rose as a symbol of kindness and guidance. For the younger children, it is a moment of reassurance and belonging; for the older, it is a chance to step into mentorship and leadership. Together, the exchange expresses the heart of Waldorf education — a journey where each child is both learner and leader.

Each rose is then placed into a single vase, symbolizing the formation of the First Grade class as a unified whole. This simple gesture reminds us that while every child is cherished as an individual, they also begin their journey together as a community.

We hope you enjoy this video and appreciate the unique gesture that each student brings to this ceremony in manner and individuality.  On behalf of The Garden School, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to this year's First Grade class!
