Kindergarten Turtles: April 21-25, 2025

Greetings Turtle Families,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Auction Fundraiser on Friday.  It was a success and so much fun! It was lovely to see all of the class projects, the amazing donations, and to have a chance to meet, chat, and “shop” together as adults.  Thank you for all the support in completing our class project and for all you do to support our school!

Thank you to the families who joined us for the Turtle workday on Saturday!  It was fun working together on campus, Spring Cleaning!

Over the last two weeks, our story has been an adaptation of the folktale "The Carrot."  A Robin, in early spring, woke up and sang his beautiful song.  He flew to the meadow in search of breakfast and found two juicy, orange carrots.  He ate one and then left the other for his friend, Freida the Donkey, to find. Freida was awakened early in the morning by a beautiful song. She went out to find breakfast and ate her fill of delicious spring cabbage. When she found the carrot Robin had left, she took it to her friend, Rabbit.  Rabbit was not home, so Freida left it for her…on and on the story goes until the carrot ends up in Robin’s nest.  It is a sweet story about caring for each other, and the children loved hearing it, seeing the puppet play, and acting out the story in our class play. We will begin another story this week.

Last week, we painted flowerpots and planted seeds in honor of Earth Day.  The children chose from a variety of seeds for their pot (watermelon, lavender, summer squash, snap pea, bean, carrot).  They brought their pots home to care for.
