Kindergarten Turtles: March 3 - 7, 2025
Greetings, Turtle Families,
Our most recent story is about a postman who delivers mail in his friendly little town. He feels joy and pride as he delivers happiness to everyone. To complement our story, the children made cards to send home. Each student drew, wrote, cut, and glued to create beautiful cards. They helped address their envelope, and some of the students even knew their home addresses. Each child placed their card in the addressed envelope and sealed it. Finally, each student placed a stamp in the top right corner of the envelope. When the envelopes were ready for the mail, we took a walk to the mailbox, and everyone had a turn putting their card in the mailbox. The last child raised the red flag so that the postman would know there was mail inside. It will be so exciting when you open the mailbox at home to find these special envelopes inside!
Wednesday was a windy day. While we couldn’t play in the forest, we still spent most of the day outside. We set up the class in the field near the farm and the children ran and played happily there all day. It is wonderful to see how easily the children find fun ways to play in a big empty field. It is in these times that their rich imaginations along with the wonderful relationships they have with each other take over and the students easily fill their time without a mention of boredom. There are multiple benefits for children during unstructured play; having free play time while at home, even when playing by themselves, is equally beneficial.
