Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds: March 17-21, 2025
Dear Joyful Beginnings Bluebirds Families,
Last week, Lady Spring arrived. Flowers were blooming and bees were buzzing. The soft wind wafted flower petals into the forest. The children danced as the petals swirled through the air. In the small playground, the Bluebirds planted a spring garden. The children filled the pots with fresh dirt and gently put the seeds in. With the assistance of many helping hands, we planted lovely marigolds and daisies. The spring showers will help the roots develop, and the plants grow strong and tall. In the classroom, we incorporated silk play in circle time. A new song, A Little Seed, was introduced. Each child held a piece of silk, pretending it was his/her special seed. Then, with a little sun, a little rain, and a little patience, the children open their hands with beautiful flowers in their palms. In Waldorf education, play silks are a staple in early childhood classrooms. They are colorful, soft, and help inspire open-ended play. During free play, silks can be used to build a tent, set up a picnic or story background, worn as a cloak, or tied up to make a purse. The simple yet magical silk can bring imagination to life.
On Friday, we celebrated Eli's birthday. We were truly thankful for the treats and had a fun time with Eli and his family.
Starting this week, students will practice wet felting. We will assist them in making wool balls, which will later be used to create bracelets and necklaces. We'll also have school photos this Wednesday and Thursday. Please dress your children accordingly and bring a change of clothes if you’d like to keep the photo outfits neat. On Friday, we will celebrate Amelia’s birthday and look forward to spending the day with her and her family. Our auction project has been doing quite well. Thank you for your time and work in ensuring the success of our auction. We sincerely appreciate your contribution and support.
