First Grade: May 4 - 8, 2026
Dear First Grade Families,
Oh, so many thank yous! Your support for our play last week was so appreciated. The care you took in preparing your child for the experience was beautiful to witness. The costumes you all made at home were perfect! Special thanks to the volunteers who lent their talents to face painting, the providers of thoughtfully chosen refreshments, and the givers of beautiful flowers for the performers and director! We really appreciate all who came out to support the show with such warmth and joy. The class put on an unforgettable heartfelt show. Well done, First Grade, on your first class play! We could not be prouder of you!
Families, thank you so much for the many ways you contributed to Teacher Appreciation Week! From a variety of plants to choose from to delicious food and beverages, teachers felt the love of the community and enjoyed every moment. The handwritten cards and gift cards that poured in were so moving. The visual representation of the gratitude of each child and parent who contributed made me feel so special and, in turn, all the more grateful for each of you. You and your children’s words along with their sweet drawings mean so much to me! Thank you.
Last week, in addition to putting on their own play, First Grade had the opportunity to see dress rehearsals for the Second/Third and Fourth/Fifth Grade plays. They truly enjoyed seeing what their older peers had been learning about and how they approached their plays. Having seen Artemis, goddess archer extraordinaire, shooting arrows in the Fourth/Fifth Grade play based on the myth of Persephone, several students were later observed at recess pretending with sticks that they bows and arrows, too! Furthermore, they were intrigued by the Aesop’s fables presented by the Second/Third Grade class, stories that they will hear as they rise through our Waldorf curriculum.
